The center aims at developing diagnosis and treatment for metabolism-related neurological disorders by identifying new regulation targets in neurons and tissues using neurometabolomics approach. An increasing prevalence of metabolic disorders - obesity, diabetes, senile dementia, and etc. - brings huge medical and social burden to not only the patients and their families but also the entire society worldwide. Development of convergence technology based on neurometabolomics research and nurturing the professional experts will provide an insight on the development of new treatments and diagnosis tools for those serious human diseases.
