Abstract
In this study, an algorithm that calculates the step counts and detects the center of gravity of a pedestrian using a self-paced treadmill is proposed. Step counts are measured using four force sensors located on the force plate of the treadmill, and the effectiveness of the treadmill system is verified by the real-time analysis of gait patterns. Based on this, a split-belt treadmill is developed to perform active gait rehabilitation for hemiplegic patients. Setting different speeds for two independent belts enables gait rehabilitation for hemiplegic patients
