Due to the severity of the climate change crisis, a policy shifting to reinforce the substantial reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is taking place from the "Kyoto Protocol System" led by the developed countries to the "Paris Agreement" in which all nations participate. Korea is also making vigorous efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and actively fostering the solar cell technology as a representative climate technology in the field of carbon reduction. The Convergence Research Center for Solar Energy will focus on next generation thin film solar cell technology and functional solar cell technology as key research areas and actively take part in proliferation and commercialization of research results. We will lead the innovation of future solar cell technology by pursuing global excellence through selective focus, operating an efficient organization to support research excellence, building the finest research infrastructure, and establishing a worldwide cooperation network.
