dc.description.abstract In this paper, we provide the framework of edge computing (EC)-enabled coordinated multipoint (CoMP)-based network with base station (BS) activation composed of the BSs equipped with EC servers having different transmission power and computing capabilities. We consider the BS activation strategy to select the BSs with EC servers, and selected BSs shut down their transmission and do not provide the computing capabilities to users. We analyze the successful edge computing probability (SECP) defined as the probability that the edge computation is finished within a target latency. Through numerical results, we then show how the BS activation affect the SECP. © 2022 IEEE. -
