dc.description.abstract The proliferation of CCTV is increasing due to the need for crime prevention and on-site monitoring. One of the main reasons is the safety requirements in public places and residential areas, along with reduced installation costs. CCTV includes high resolution, remote surveillance, and storage capabilities, predominantly using the traditional DVR method and the wireless NVR method. While DVR offers stability, the complexity and cost associated with data cable installation are its drawbacks. On the other hand, NVR is convenient to install but requires external memory and the use of a paid network. This paper proposes a new approach of installing wireless cameras at DVR locations. The suggested security protocol uses a hash chain to continuously update the camera's secret key. This reduces the cost of wireless cameras and also solves the computational complexity issue of the public key-based structure. The method of hash chaining through the XOR operation of two hash chain seeds simplifies the hash chain traversal structure and enhances the efficiency and security of CCTV. -
