Abstract
High energy capacity flexible lithium-ion battery is fabricated using silicon nanoparticles on a flexible current collector. Silicon is known for highest capacity anode material. However huge volume change during the lithium insertion and extraction result in pulverization, which is cause of rapid capacity fading with the charge-discharge cycles. High electric conductive flexible current collector was prepared by RF magnetron sputtering of thin copper layer onto porous polymeric membrane which is important for the flexible character. Silicon nanoparticles as an anode material for flexible battery showed excellent cycling performances. Utilization of the silicon nanoparticles increased absolute amount of active material that can be balanced with cathode materials. Electrochemical properties of the flexible lithium-ion batteries have been investigated
