- Abstract
- 본 발명은 실제 동영상 콘텐츠나 MP3 오디오 파일 등을 재생할 때 현재 재생되는 콘텐츠의 디코딩 계산량에 따라 멀티미디어 칩셋에 입력되는 시스템 클럭을 적절하게 동적으로 설정함으로써 전력을 최소화할 수 있는 전력 절약 장치 및 방법을 제공하기 위한 것으로서, 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 파라미터를 추출하는 단계와, 상기 추출된 파라미터의 조합으로 미리 정해진 임계값으로 매핑하고 그 값을 이용하여 멀티미디어 칩셋의 클럭 주파수를 재조정하는 단계와, 상기 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 별로 재조정된 클럭 주파수에 해당되는 임계값을 메타-데이터화하여 저장하는 단계를 포함하는데 있다.
