Professor Aaram J. Kim’s laboratory is a theory and computational physics research group in the Department of Physics and Chemistry at DGIST, dedicated to the study of strongly correlated electron systems. We focus in particular on non-Fermi-liquid behavior in high-Tc superconductors, the interplay between spin–orbit coupling and the Mott transition, and non-equilibrium relaxation dynamics in quantum many-body systems. To tackle these challenges, we develop and apply innovative methods—such as diagrammatic Monte Carlo, dynamical mean-field theory (and its cluster/multiorbital extensions), quantum Monte Carlo algorithms, and novel solutions to the fermionic sign problem.
