For practical applications of quantum-sized semiconductor nanocrystals, fundamental understanding of their transformation mechanisms is important. In this talk, I will delve into the phase transformation mechanisms of quantum-sized semiconductor nanocrystals, revealed by in-situ liquid-phase transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Firstly, I will discuss the moisture-induced degradation of quantum-sized semiconductor nanocrystals and the role of amorphous-phase transitions in this process. This newfound knowledge will be beneficial to enhance the stability and durability of nanocrystals, advancing their practical applicability. Secondly, I will talk about the crystal phase transformations of II-VI semiconductor nanocrystals. This provides valuable insights into how the crystal phase of the semiconductor nanocrystals can be determined.
