The room may include one or more of a first collapsible side wall, a second collapsible side wall, and a collapsible roof. An operating mechanism includes a gear rack attached to an edge of the floor and a pinion gear driven by a torque shaft attached to the wall of the vehicle. A cable has a first end attached to the outer wall and a second end attached to the floor or to a spool driven by the torque shaft.
