The present invention relates to a sulfone-compound-based electrolyte and a secondary battery comprising the sulfone-compound-based electrolyte. The secondary battery according to the present invention can suppress gas generation in a high temperature or thermal runaway environment, or generate noncumbustible gas so as to lower the risk of combustion or explosion.
