내부에 약물이 봉입함으로써 약물의 독성으로 인한 부작용을 최소화 하고, 약물의 용해도를 증가시켜 치료 효과를 극대화 하며, 다양한 생리 조건에서 균일한 구형 구조를 유지함으로써 체내 안정성을 유지할 수 있는, 약물 전달체를 제공한다.
