Molecular Inorganic Synthesis and Catalysis Lab: Our group uses synthetic inorganic chemistry to investigate new concepts in structure, bonding, reactivity, and catalysis. We aim to develop conceptually new organometallic compounds, understand the functional role of the metal center in catalysis, and discover new transformations catalyzed by organometallic compounds. Researchers joining the group can expect to develop skills in organic/inorganic synthesis, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, single crystal X-ray diffraction, and density functional theory calculations with fundamental understanding of molecular electronic structure and reaction kinetics/thermodynamics.
