- Abstract
- In this study, we present asymmetric polymer-based piezoelectric (PZT) tube fiber scanning OCT endoscope. An optical fiber is aligned in the center of the PZT tube including an asymmetric elastic component. Two different elasticities in the asymmetric polymer can generate two resonant frequencies of the optical scanning fiber along two orthogonal axes. According to finite element method, the tens of hertz frequency division can be achieved with respect to the length and shape of the polymer. The OCT endoscopic probe demonstrated that it could acquire cross-sectional images of biological samples.
