dc.description.abstract In cognitive radio networks, it is important to efficiently use spectrum resources without causing interference to the primary user. In multihop routing, collision with the primary user and interlink interference can reduce system throughput. Also, channel selection is an important issue in multi-channel cognitive radio networks. In this paper, we propose a channel-selection scheme to reduce the collision rate and interlink interference in multi-hop and multi-channel cognitive radio networks. We evaluate the proposed channel-selection scheme using extensive simulation, and simulation results show that the proposed scheme can reduce the collision rate and obtain higher network throughput. © 2016 Pushpa Publishing House, Allahabad, India. -
