This study introduces a microinjection system with a fiber-optic force and distance measurement sensor. Fabry-Perot interferometer and common-path optical coherence tomography are combined to implement a multimodal force and distance sensor. After taking the fast Fourier transform (FFT) to the acquired interferometric signal, phase analysis, and amplitude are analyzed to measure force and distance, respectively. A linear piezoelectric actuator subsequently controls the needle position while compensating for the hand tremors.
