Biomolecular & Protein Chemistry Laboratory0
Our group focuses on the chemical biology of protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) and thier molecular interactions that are relevant in brain and neurological disorders. We integrate chemical, biochemical, structural, and biological approaches such as peptide synthesis, protein engineering, biochemical assays, and cellular experiments to elucidate the functions of chemically modified proteins in vitro and in living cells. Our long-term objective is to identify the specific protein PTMs that drive the progression of brain and neurological diseases and to unravel their underlying molecular mechanisms.
- Investigating the roles of protein PTMs that arise in the brain and neurons under disease conditions
- Developing molecular tools to elucidate mechanisms underlying brain and neurological disorders
