Our research focuses on quantum optics and biomedical optics, and many parts of it are contributions from our undergraduate students by UGRP (Undergraduate Group Research Project) programs. Basically we want to better understand how light behaves, and to apply the knowledge in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases.We are also interested in Physics Education and scientific public relations, as we believe scientific knowledge published in a journal has no meanings unless it is digested and shared with public. Knowing that the Moon is a spherical object doesn't guarantee that you can see it in the night sky as a 3D spherical object, does it? We would like to challenge people with scientific knowledge that they think they understand, starting with the very fundamental one such as "the Earth is round". (Disclaimer: We are not related in any way with Flat Earthers.) Imagination is more important than knowledge, and we would like to guide the public so they can use the right imagination in the right way in order to understand the nature more fully.
