Recently, as demand for comport service and diverse functionalities in the automotive development system increases, the complexity of vehicle embedded software has also increased. However, since existing automotive embedded softwares are highly depend on the hardwares, software product modification is essential when hardware specifications are changed. In addition, software testers have to spend lots of time and cost in testifying embedded software because software test is only being performed with hardware without testifying software itself. To overcome these problems, AUTOSAR software platform was introduced to provide standardized interface and hardware independency on software module. Thus, embedded softwares can be correctly pretested prior to hardware implementation due to independency of software and hardware. This paper suggests a gradual test method and technique for application software based on AUTOSAR to test software itself without adopting it to hardware, and it is demonstrated based on the case study
