본 발명의 실시예는 실제 향기를 제공하지 않고 후각 신경에 전기 자극을 제공하여 뇌가 향기를 느낄 수 있는 향기 발생 장치에 관한 것이다. 향기 정보 처리기가 향기 정보로부터 향기의 종류와 강도를 추출할 수 있으며, 그 향기의 종류와 강도에 따라 후각 신경의 종류 및 전기 자극의 크기를 설정할 수 있다. 후각 자극기는 향기 정보 처리기의 작동 신호에 의해 설정 크기의 전기 자극을 후각 신경에 제공할 수 있다.
